About Glennys
When Glennys Sabuco first went to Peru in 2010, she knew she had to return. A special education teacher, she visited the San Manuelito School for children with severe disabilities and was deeply touched by the depth of their poverty and their positive outlook on life.
Glennys has an M.Ed. in special education, with mild-moderate, severe, early childhood, and ESL (English as a second language) endorsements. She retired from her classroom that she loved in 2012 in order to devote more time to the expanding mission in Peru.
Glennys says that she doesn’t have words, in English or in Spanish, to express her gratitude to everyone who helps Amigos in any way. She feels called to serve “the least of these,” believes that we all, at some point in our lives, fall into that category, and gratefully receives much more from our Amigos in Peru than she could ever give.
